Sound Transit I-5 Undercrossing Pits

Location: Bellevue/Kirkland, Washington

This project involved construction of a new three-and-a-half-story parking garage with 530 stalls, plus 260 spaces in a surface parking lot. The site is split between the cities of Bellevue and Kirkland. King County provided $8.8 million in funding toward building the transit center and garage, largely from grants by the Federal Transit Administration and the Washington State Department of Transportation.

ORA was engaged to provide testing and inspection of the following items:

  • Soil nail grout
  • Shotcrete
  • Reinforced concrete
  • Post-tensioned concrete
  • Reinforced masonry
  • Proprietary anchors
  • Structural steel fabrication and erection
  • Nondestructive testing of welds
