Location: Seattle, Washington

This $6 million project involved construction of a 19,000-square-foot facility for storing, cleaning, and maintaining the First Hill Streetcar vehicles. The facility was designed to achieve LEED Silver certification and serves as the center for First Hill Streetcar operations with reporting, dispatch, streetcar maintenance, system maintenance and administration. Building features include a sloped green roof for rainwater collection, and site configuration for natural views, extensive daylighting, and ventilation.

ORA was engaged to provide testing and inspection of the following items:

  • Soil compaction
  • Concrete placement
  • Structural steel fabrication and erection
  • Nondestructive testing of welds
  • Subsurface interface radar (locating services
