This project involved construction of a new firefighting facility located at SeaTac International Airport. The 1,320-square-foot tower features drive-up access all around, hose drying, exterior stairs, a basement level and more.

ORA’s scope of work included both geotechnical and structural items.

Geotechnical items inspected included:
  • Soil bearing verification
  • Subgrade evaluation
  • Fill placement
  • Soils compaction
Structural items inspected included:
  • Reinforcing steel
  • Reinforced concrete
  • Reinforced masonry
  • Epoxy grouting of rebar and anchor bolts
  • Structural steel fabrication and erection
  • Ultrasonic examination
  • Steel decking
